ABOUT
Micah brings passion, energy, & a diverse Architectural background to all of his projects with +13 years of experience in the industry. He was born & raised in Mexico Beach, Florida where his career began working on custom coastal homes for a residential design firm in 2006. His curiosity for how things work and his passion for design, led to the pursuit of a Master's Degree in Architecture & his professional licensure.
Following licensure, he then spent 5 years as a bridge Architect, where he worked on multimillion dollar design-build transportation projects across the globe for major interstate bridges. Some of his more notable projects that he was involved with are the $555M Kosciusko Bridge (I-278) Brooklyn Queens Expressway in New York City and the $273M George G. Voinovich Bridge in Cleveland, Ohio.
His earlier passion for residential design led him back to traditional Architecture. Experience at other firms included multi-million dollar custom homes, churches, & hotel projects such as The Driftwood Inn Rebuild in Mexico Beach. Other notable experience include projects for numerous state agencies - (Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Department of Children & Families, Department of Managerial Services). Micah also serves as the Architectural Control Committee’s Consulting Architect for a large conservation community in Tallahassee, FL.
Following the destruction of Hurricane Michael in 2018, Micah
took it as a personal obligation to help reshape his hometown and bring thoughtful design to the area which lead to the founding of Micah Dodson Architectural Studio, LLC (MDA-Studio).
“Designing a new home should be fun, not a chore. My goal for every project is to create a truly custom design and provide the 'HGTV experience' to clients while maintaining a competitive price point.” - Micah W. Dodson
